View Small Screen
The small screen view can be invoked in two ways:
When the view window appears, it will be maximized to full screen mode. It will have tabs across the top
to select the desired view mode. The available view modes are:
- a simplified version of the map window, still with zoom in, zoom out, and home buttons.
- the station/object table, without the option to filter
- the raw packets table
- the text messages table, with a section below to transmit text messages. This section
also contains a list of canned text messages which can be clicked on to pre-fill the outgoing
text message. Similarly, clicks on a callsign in the received list will pre-populate the
recipient callsign field for the outgoing text message.
- if a source of GPS data is connected, a tab displaying the current GPS coordinates and
a "scope" of the current satellite constellation view of the receiver. If multiple GPS's
are connected (for example, local versus remote on an amateur rocket or balloon), the remote GPS will be
displayed as a separate tab named with the configured remote name.
- the Status pane, which allows the user to quickly change the Mic-E
status of the local station. Note that this is only meaningful if you have configured your default beacon to
use Mic-E format for your position beacons, and have a port capable of transmitting
APRS packets; error messages will be displayed and the status changing buttons
will be disabled on this panel if you do not meet all of the requirements for
transmitting Mic-E beacons.
All of the tabs have a menu button
on their controls.
This toggles to enable or disable displaying the normal YAAC menu bar above the tabs (to gain additional
screen space on low-resolution screens and avoid mis-selects when using a fat finger on a
touchscreen).
If the normal YAAC menus are displayed, they can be used to invoke any normal YAAC view, although
these other views may not fit on a small screen and may not be operable with a touchscreen.
