View Tracked Stations

YAAC has the capability of treating explicitly specified stations and objects specially to emphasize them. This is useful when working an event and non-event stations are showing up on the map. The View->Stations->Tracked menu choice allows you to manage the stations you wish to handle specially. In addition, the right-click popup menu choice "Track Station" allows easily adding stations and objects to the Tracked Stations list.

When a station or object is added to the Tracked Stations list, the following options can be selected by checkbox on a per-tracked-station basis:

  1. draw a stripe along the path of motion the station has recently taken; there will be no effective change to the map if the station is not moving. Note this is the option selected by default when a station or object is added to the Tracked Stations list.
  2. Automatically pan the map to keep the station visible. If several stations have this option checked and are moving away from each other, the map may zoom out if needed to keep all the selected stations visible.
  3. Use a double-sized icon for the station (making it easier to find on a cluttered map). If you have already selected View->Layers->Show Symbols Double-Sized, then tracked stations with this option will be quadruple-sized.
  4. Suppress displaying the callsign-SSID or tactical alias for a station on the map.
  5. Change the timeout for reporting non-responsive stations to a time interval in seconds other than the default used for non-tracked stations.
  6. Change the importance (priority) for reporting this station in pileups where many stations in the same location. By default, all stations (tracked and untracked) have medium importance, but this can be changed on a per-tracked-station basis to high, medium high, medium, medium low, or low importance.

If the sounds plugin is used, an additional choice for making sound effects is available, although it is only meaningful if the sounds plugin is configured to only make sounds for selected stations.
